A Beauty Tip That Rocks...

PALE LIPS

Soft shades of lipstick, such as beige and baby pink, balanced all the aggressive eye makeup. When topped with gloss, they made the models' mouths look "sexy and full," said McGrath. At Louis Vuitton, where the models' shiny beige lips were paired with neutral cheeks, "the overall effect was monochromatic," she said.

TRICK OF THE TRADE: Full-on nude lips may work on the runway, but for real life, choose a shade that's slightly pink or flecked with shimmer.

First Look: Lara Stone Replaces Madonna as Spring 2010 Face of Louis Vuitton

>> As rumored, Louis Vuitton chose to go with Lara Stone for Spring 2010, rather than bring Madonna back for her third consecutive season.  Antoine Arnault, Vuitton's communications director, explained: “After two seasons with such a huge star, Marc [Jacobs] decided to take a breather and work with a model — and not just any model. It’s the choice of a new supermodel.”

Steven Meisel, who took over the Vuitton campaign three seasons ago from longrunning Vuitton photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, captured Stone surrounded by doves (perhaps carrying on a thread of his Fall 2009 Lanvin campaignwith Kristen McMenamy in the midst of black cats).

Cocktail Party Anyone?

Tis the season for...cocktail parties, lots of schmoozing, boozing and of course, a sea of black dresses. A classic little black dress is certainly acceptable, at a funeral, but for a cocktail party? Come on, it's almost 2010 and time to break out of your shell! Please, we beg of you to step away from the black dress! Words cannot begin to express how much we love this jacket by 3.1 Philip Lim this holiday season. This fab jacket with black dress shorts and some sexy shoes screams hotness! Now that you are looking fabulous, go ahead with your bad self and call it a night!

"It's a hybrid of yoga poses, and toning exercises, for sculpting sleek muscles, losing weight and unwinding your mind," says Ingber, who also helps Jenny McCarthy and Chelsea Handler stay in top form. "This workout will change your body and your mind," says Aniston. “This is one of the most fun, challenging workouts I’ve ever had.”

Fashion Bloggers Hit The Front Row

Dolce&Gabbana
The bloggers who write Bryanboy.com, JakandJil..com, GaranceDore.fr and The Sartorialist had coveted front-row seats in Milan last week at the D&G show and at the more upscale Dolce & Gabbana show. Laptops were provided.

At the D&G runway show in Milan last week, the chief executives of Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman were relegated to second-row and third-row seats. In front of them, sitting primly in the first row, was Federico Marchetti, chief executive of online retailer Yoox.com .

The moment—coming as the super-sexy women's styles for next spring pranced down Milan's runways—marked a shake-up in an ultra-hierarchical world. The privileged treatment of a digital-media figure showed that luxury fashion is ready to introduce styles to the public in new ways—new, at least, to this old-fashioned industry.

Front rows are reserved for those most important to a brand's success—celebrities, important retailers and magazine editors. In past years, Mr. Marchetti sometimes borrowed tickets to shows from other guests. But in the past year, Yoox has expanded its business of creating online stores for luxury brands such as D&G, the casual ready-to-wear line from Dolce & Gabbana, and for Jil Sander—whose site launched just today. And this season, Mr. Marchetti has actually been invited to too many shows. "I don't have time anymore," he said at a party thrown by Versace in Milan.

The warm welcome extends to bloggers. While the New York shows have been inviting some bloggers for a few seasons now, many of Europe's luxury houses have been slower to allow bloggers into the shows. But two days after the D&G event, at a show for the high-end Dolce & Gabbana line, four surprised bloggers found themselves seated in coveted spots near the queen of fashion, Vogue editor Anna Wintour. One of them, Tommy Ton of JakandJil.com, could hardly believe he'd made it into one of Milan's hottest shows. "A season ago I had to wait patiently outside for arrivals and exits, and now I'm sitting here," he blogged from his seat, on a laptop provided by Dolce & Gabbana.
