Rock Those Red Bottoms!
"A woman carries her clothes, but it's a shoe which carries a woman"
Christian Louboutin
It's all about red bottoms ladies, and you know what I'm talking about - Christian Louboutin's!! Worn by celebrities, socialites and you and I alike, they are a coveted treasure in any girl's closet. These sexy puppies have some history behind them and besides we all want to know, just how did they get those red bottoms anyhow?
Christian Louboutin was instrumental in bringing the stiletto back into fashion in the '90s. Louboutin's goal was to make a woman look sexy and beautiful and to make her legs look as long as he could. Louboutin is generally associated with his dressier eveningwear designs incorporating bejeweled straps, bows, feathers, patent leather and other, similar decorative touches.
In his U.S. trademark application, Louboutin explains the inception of the signature red soles:
"In 1992, I incorporated the red sole into the design of my shoes. This happened by accident as I felt that the shoes lacked energy so I applied red nail polish to the sole of a shoe. This was such a success that it became a permanent fixture."
Louboutin also received inspiration for his infamous, lethal-looking stilettos from an incident that occurred in his early twenties. He had visited a museum and noticed that there was a sign that forbade women to enter while wearing sharp stilettos, for fear of damage to the extensive wood flooring. This image stayed in his mind, and he later used this idea in his designs. Louboutin has been quoted as saying, "I wanted to defy that and create something that broke rules and made women feel confident and empowered."
So there you go! Oh and one more thing while I'm at it so we can all be fabulous together, let's get the pronunciation right on this one....

A Beauty Tip That Rocks
Smooth and Even Skintone
Gwyneth Paltrow knows a thing or two about good fashion—and good skin. Case in point: her flawlessly clear face at the cocktail party she hosted for Valentino: The Last Emperor in New York City. To keep your complexion looking gorgeously even, apply a daily lotion or serum with plant-derived antioxidants or vitamin C, both of which have been proven to brighten and prevent dark spots. - Courtesy of InStyle

A Beauty Tip That Rocks...
Bright Pink Blush
Blush doesn't have to be subtle to be gorgeous—take Cameron Diaz's look at the premiere of The Box in New York City. Rather than shading color along your cheekbones, dab just on the apples of your cheeks. And be sure to use a cream tint, not a powder formula—the color is both more concentrated and easier to blend.
